In 2001, Philip and Stephanie Stanton opened Mississippi Pizza Pub. Responding to Portland’s progressive understanding of individual health concerns, Mississippi Pizza began producing gluten-free pizza in 2009 under the direction of Chef Jeff DeLoach. As demand continued to grow for gluten-free pizza we realized we needed a separate facility for our gluten-free pizza crust manufacturing. Today, Portland Gluten-Free assembles both vegan and regular gluten-free pizza crusts daily in a completely gluten-free environment. The facility is not only HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) certified, but also GIG (Gluten Intolerance Group) certified. We make our pizza crusts to order, so they always go to our distributors fresh, and we are located close in on East Burnside for easy pickup. The pizza skins are constructed by hand, parbaked and then frozen. They can be topped and cooked directly from the freezer, so they are ideal for restaurants, pizza parlors, grocery stores and food service operations of any size. The best part is that they come out looking, feeling and tasting like old world artisan pizzas. You may not know it, but many of the gluten-free pizzas around town are ours.
